As if it needs more power and 'improved throttle and acceleration feel' - the Nissan GT-R still gets it anyway. That, and an aluminum nameplate with the name of the engine constructor.


All in all, the Maximus Racing GT-R is still a car you don't want to mess with. We've been promised to be kept in the loop for future enhancements. We will in turn update you, our readers, when that time comes.

2011 FIA GT1 Round 3 - Algarve

Nissan GT-Rs sweeps clean top three in Portimao.


Among these, Ito (No. 6) was running at the fastest pace and gradually closing what was initially a 16-second gap between him and Motoyama (No. 23). It looked as if Ito would eventually take the lead if that pace continued, but with about ten laps remaining the rain began falling harder and forming puddles on the track that made conditions treacherous. Cars began spinning out and running off the track. Seeing this, the Clerk of the course ordered the red flag out at the end of lap 60 to stop the race. Eventually it was decided to end the competition at this point, making the running order at the end of lap 59 the final finishing order. This gave the victory to the No. 23 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (Satoshi Motoyama/Benoit Treluyer). Finishing seconnd was the No. 6 ENEOS SUSTINA SC430 (Daisuke Ito/Kazuya Oshima), while third went to the No. 19 WedsSport ADVAN SC430 (Tatsuya Kataoka/Seiji Ara).

The Motul Autech Nissan GT-R wins the bad-weather season opener.


At the front Dumbreck was pressurising the leading Nissan of Bernoldi, while Martin was close behind the second placed JR Motorsport Nissan. For lap after lap the three cars circulated in formation, each trying to push the other into a mistake. Their battle allowed Winklehock and Piccione to close up to make it a five way battle for the lead as the pitstops approached. On lap 13 Martin finally got past Dumbreck's Nissan at T18 for second place just as the pit window opened.

Ricardo Zonta had a great start as the lights went green for the Championship Race but it was Jamie Campbell-Walter who broke through the ranks to clinch second. Behind them, things went horribly wrong for a lot of cars and after the mayhem had subsided, the SRT Nissans and Triple H Maserati were the main victims of the carnage.
